Single images

Single images that contain narrative are always interesting and unusual as you don't know the context as there is no before and after like in a comic it just captures that moment.

Jim Woodring
Though known for his comics Jim Woodring also has done some single panel narrative images. His images are very surreal like his comics but are a lot more detailed witch feeds the narrative. To understand these images you need to study them very carefully so you don't miss anything meaning unlike a comic you would spend a lot more time looking at a single image. Again he doesn't use text within these single images and like his comic he uses facial expression to show what's happening with the characters.
